- Is this invoice generator really free?
- Yes. Make as many invoices as you like and download each one as a PDF. No account, no card, no watermark across the page, just a small line at the bottom saying it was made with Quits.
- Do I need to sign up to download my invoice?
- No. Fill in the form and press Download PDF. You only need a free account if you want Quits to keep the invoice, email it to your client with a payment link and chase them if they pay late.
- What does a UK invoice need to include?
- A unique invoice number, your name and address, your client's name and address, the date, a description of the work, the amount and the total due. VAT-registered businesses also need their VAT number and the VAT shown separately. The generator has a field for each one.
- Can I add VAT?
- Yes. Tick "I'm VAT-registered" and the invoice adds 20% VAT, shows it separately from the net amount and includes your VAT number.
- Where is my invoice stored?
- Only in your own browser, so you can come back to it on the same device. Nothing is sent to us until you press Download PDF, and even then the PDF is made and handed straight back without being saved.
- Where do my sort code and account number go?
- Fill in the account name, sort code and account number under "How your client pays you". They appear in a payment box on the invoice with a payment reference made from your invoice number, so your client can pay by bank transfer and you can match the payment when it lands.
- How do I get paid?
- Add your bank details and the invoice shows them with a payment reference, so your client can pay by bank transfer with no fees. With a free Quits account you can also see when they've opened it and record the payment when it arrives.
